Sponsor since 1969 for monthly Carnatic music concert held at the hotel. Room guests are welcome to attend the monthly concert compliments of the hotel.

The boutique brings the beauty of art and craft to our lives by promoting traditional technique, hand-based crafts and other creative skills as a means of earning a living, primarily for girls and women and differently-abled persons.

This program partnered with Banglanatak.com, Kolkata, (https://banglanatak.com/), since 2019, to promote artist exchange and direct market linkages as a means to enhance artists’ income

This program has employed differently abled individuals across various hotel departments.


Used 90+% wind energy to supplement hotel’s electricity requirements since 2013


Recycled 90% water through use of treated effluent and rainwater harvesting for hotel landscaping.


Implemented ‘less plastic’ initiatives across hotel operations to minimise single use plastics (poster).


Hotel operates a wood working unit (with a master carpenter and painter) to repair, restore, and preserve furniture, which has resulted in reduced waste.


This ‘bee hotel’ serves as a habitat for wild bees and also raises awareness about the diversity of wild bees and the important role solitary pollinator bees play in urban food production.

Bee-ginning on 2021 World Bee Day, which is celebrated annually on 20 May, Fortune Pandiyan Hotel forayed into honeybee keeping with the introduction of 2 bee hives with roughly 20,000 bees in our garden. The purpose of this initiative was to raise awareness to the role of honeybees for food production.


Launched a horticulture initiative at PCM Farm, about 15 kms from the hotel, to propagate plants for the hotel garden along with the planting of fruit trees such as mangoes, bananas, coconuts, lemons, etc., to provide seasonal fruits to the hotel. This horticulture initiative has been designed with eco-friendly concepts that is aligned with our ‘clean and green’ goal for a ‘better environment, better tomorrow’.
